Teen Culture Takeover

Every NYC high school student who signs up gets a free two month TDF membership. Enter the lottery and you could also win two free tickets to a Broadway show.

About the Program

For New York, For the Culture

Teen Culture Takeover is a partnership between TDF, the Office of the Mayor and the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. It puts Broadway, Off Broadway, museums and cultural institutions within reach of every high school student in the five boroughs.

Sign up

One short form. Your grade, your school, your borough, and your top three shows. It takes about two minutes.

Enter the lottery

Entries are open from Thursday, August 13 until Monday, August 17. Everyone who enters hears back on the 17th, whether or not they win.

Start using your membership

Your free two month TDF membership arrives by email within about 30 minutes. It unlocks free and low cost offers across the city straight away, lottery or no lottery.

Frequently asked

Who can sign up?

Any student in grades 9 through 12 at a New York City high school, public or private. You will be asked for your OSIS number, or your school email address if you do not know it.

What do I actually get?

A free two month TDF membership, which unlocks free and reduced price tickets to hundreds of productions across the city. You are also entered into a lottery for two free tickets to one of the participating Broadway shows.

When do I find out about the lottery?

Monday, August 17. Everyone who entered gets an email that day, whether they won tickets or not. Your membership is not affected either way.

How do I use my tickets if I win?

Your tickets come by email. Each show sets its own redemption dates between late August and early October, and we will remind you before yours closes.
